Patient Experiences

Patient experiences

How the process works for international preservation rhinoplasty patients — from the first message to long-term follow-up — described plainly, without testimonials or ratings.

No testimonials, no ratings. This page does not show patient testimonials, star ratings or review counts. Medical information should help you make a decision, not persuade you into one — and each patient's anatomy, skin and goals are different. Individual results vary.

How the process works

  1. First message. You send nasal photographs (frontal, both profiles, both obliques and a basal view) with a brief description of your concerns and goals, by WhatsApp or email, directly to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Işık Erdal.
  2. Assessment. The initial photographic review gives a preliminary technique recommendation and an approximate cost estimate within 24 hours. A detailed video consultation with Dr. Erdal follows, covering your goals, any breathing concerns or previous surgery, preservation versus structural approach, a realistic timeline and the total cost. There is no commitment at this stage.
  3. Consultation. The day before surgery, an in-person consultation at the clinic in Istanbul covers the final examination, photographic documentation, confirmation of the surgical plan and consent. Suitability is always confirmed by personal consultation and examination. Some enquiries end without an operation being scheduled; that is a legitimate outcome of a consultation.
  4. Surgery and early recovery in Istanbul. Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia in a JCI-accredited hospital — typically 2–3 hours for preservation rhinoplasty — followed by overnight observation. A stay of at least 7 nights covers splint removal and clearance to fly home. The patient journey and the recovery timeline set out each stage and its timing.
  5. Follow-up. Photographic follow-up continues by WhatsApp through the first 12 months, with direct access to Dr. Erdal throughout. Tip definition typically settles at 6–12 months, and at 12–18 months in thick-skinned patients.

Checking independently

You do not need to rely on anything the practice writes about itself. Qualifications and the Ministry of Health health-tourism authorisation are set out on the credentials page; the academic appointment and publications are on the academic profile. Each item below sits in a register maintained by someone other than this practice, and the credential verification guide explains how to apply the same checks to any surgeon.
